Fernan – The person behind the The DotNet Guy is a software developer by heart. Since child, he have used a computer – using command line interface to play early computer games.

He started to develop interest in programming during his high school days through textbooks used by his sister in private school. He started with HTML (basic only), followed by Visual Basic 6.0, although no visual basic compiler at that time, he found a way to code and experiment using Visual Basic for Applications, thru Microsoft Access.

A typical Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in Microsoft Access, this feature was available to earlier versions of Office such as Office 97

He finished his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science at Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST) in 2015 and currently working as a Software Developer in a manufacturing and retail company based in Quezon City.

Object-Oriented Programming is his foundation and most of his projects is created under Microsoft .NET framework: WinForms, WPF, UWP, WCF Web Services, the emerging open source version of .NET (.NET Core), cross platform development UNO Platform which is also uses .NET technology.

Aside from programming, he is also doing amateur smartphone photography. He likes Bossa Nova and Jazz and he is a minimalist.
